It was her love for cooking that led Regina Hendricks to Canisius College.

Hendricks is a member of the Chartwells Dining Services team, and has been a member of the Canisius College staff for 19 years.

Upon graduating from East High School, she attended Erie Community College. Prior to working at Canisius, Hendricks was employed at Little Caesars Pizza. She also worked as a cook for Head Start, an early childhood program.

Her daily responsibilities include arriving at campus at six in the morning every day and making sure that everything is set up for the students’ breakfast. She is also very well-known on campus for making eggs and breakfast wraps.

“So many members of my team look forward to going to Dining Hall for breakfast after early morning practice because it’s a double win,” said junior Miranda Bigham. “You get to have a great conversation with Regina, and you get to have her legendary eggs for breakfast. She is unfailingly in a good mood, even at 7 a.m. There have been so many times in the past three years that a conversation with her has started my day off on the best note.”

Bingham continued, “We love starting out days with Regina and her beautiful smile!”

When she is not working, Hendricks enjoys watching all different kinds of TV programs. She particularly enjoys going on walks accompanied by her cousin; they walk five miles a day during the summer.

The appreciation that she feels from the students when her food is tasty is what keeps her coming back every day.

Hendricks is an important member of the Canisius community and has touched the lives of so many during her time working here.

“I greet people with a smile and kind words,” Hendricks said. “That’s what we all need to start our day off and a good morning meal!”
