Step Out Buffalo

  • Celebrate Friendsgiving (Or Something) – Thanksgiving may be over but that doesn’t mean we can’t still be grateful for our friends! And also good food. And restaurants that have good food that’s easy to share with friends. Call it whatever you want, just use it as an excuse to get the gang together and enjoy some Spanish or Ethiopian or Southern or Burmese shareables and call it a good time. Read more on the best places to have a Friendsgiving at
  • Learn About Buffalo…The Fun Way – Buffalo (and tbh the entire Western New York area) is teeming with cool history and places to explore. There’s lots of fun ways to get *learnt*, like a Buffalo Bites food and history tour, an Explore Buffalo city tour, Trivia Night at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site, and ‘It WAS a Wonderful Life’ aka the musical about our history that takes place at Forest Lawn Cemetery. What better time to learn about it than now amirite? #themoreyouknow. Read more on events, tours, and performances showcasing Buffalo’s history
  • Get in the Holiday Spirit – It may feel like early fall but it’s officially December, which means it’s holiday crunch time. There are dozens of holidays that take place this month so go on and embrace that good ol’ holiday spirit! From holiday markets and art shows to themed dinners and festive rock shows to the annual holiday tree lighting downtown – you’re sure to find something no matter what you’re celebrating. Even if you’re just celebrating the fact that it’s 55 degrees in December. Read more on holiday happenings all over WNY at
  • See a Live Band – With a new month comes a new crop of shows to check out. Big and small, known and unknown, take advantage of these free/cheap shows to get out of the house and do something different instead of staying in and watching Netflix…again. December will see lots of awesome talent in its 31 days including Every Time I Die, The CPX, Shana Falana, and Rubblebucket. Pro-tip: Use our City Guides to find things to do around each venue and make a night of it. Read more on our must-see shows this month at
