Where to go: Erie Canal Harbor Station

By Sarah Signorelli

Our metro-stop journey has come to an end, with the Erie Canal Harbor Station closing things up. The stop, located at Main and Scott Streets, is a five-minute walk from the Thursday at the Harbor summer festivities. Kicking things off at the harbor on Friday, June 28 are Counting Crows and The Wallflowers .Tickets go on sale today, April 26, so get your tickets now!

Formerly known as “Thursday in the Square,” the concert series previously hosted big names like O.A.R., The Tragically Hip, and LL Cool J. This summer is sure to bring some fun concerts of all genres. Even if you’re not completely familiar with the artists performing, check out some new bands. Who knows, you may even discover your new obsession. The Thursday night stir also brings along tons of business for the local bars and restaurants, with plenty of options for food before the show and a few drinks after with your friends.

A week or so back, my family went on an outing to Templeton Landing, located at 2 Templeton Terrace, just on the water. The restaurant was a bit pricy, but was well worth it with the view of the waterfront. The staff raved about how busy they get, once the concert season rolls around, and from what I’ve heard, it’s a great spot to grab a bite with friends before a concert. The short walk from the restaurant to the concert location definitely relieves the stress of driving and allows everyone to relax. I encourage you to head over on one of these beautiful spring or summer nights and try the steak or lobster!
